About this shelf

Big BoxCollection,

a shelf of relics from before the age of streaming.

I've always had a soft spot for the time when PC games came in big cardboard boxes, heavy enough to feel like objects, not just software. Manuals, maps, registration cards, inserts, sometimes posters. You explored the box before the game even started.

I also bought my first Microsoft Flight Simulator scenery packs in the '90s and never really stopped. Years later, I had the pleasure of being part of the development team of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.

Every box on this shelf is part of my own collection. Each scan was made from the real physical box, and the photos document the original contents that came with it.

This is the digital twin of my real shelf, preserved as closely as possible to how these games originally reached our hands.
